Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am so blessed to work at a special day school for students with disabilities. We are a Title 1 school due to the low socio-economic status of most of our students. We are a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) school, our goal is to reinforce positive behaviors that will replace negative behaviors. Students earn reinforcers for positive behaviors and work completion. At the end of each week we celebrate those who have had a successful week. Food is a great reinforcer since most of our students are food insecure, and are often hungry.

We are requesting a variety of snack items that students can choose from, such as chips, Caprisuns, fruit snacks and cookies, when they have earned their points (by having a great week).

Our snack shelves are empty, and need replenishing. We are so grateful for your support.
