Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Being a teacher in a poverty district is not an easy experience. If there is a chance that I can help a child put a smile on his/her face, provide snacks or rewards to students that show good behavior or score high on an assignment, bring hope to those that feel like they have no one or no future, I would love to be able to do just that. I truly believe that any child can have a successful life if they have someone to help keep them on track and someone that actually believes in them. We have some students that actually have never eaten at a buffet, and a group of teachers were excited to give those students that opportunity. With your help, we can help those that go home to little or nothing to eat or little to no support from home to at least have a snack and don’t have to worry about school supplies or the material needed to be successful at school. This is where the laptop will come into play by letting students use it to complete assignments. My class has a shortage of laptops/chromebooks due to damages. The organizer cart will allow us to keep papers separated by class, and the headphones can be used while watching educational videos for assignments. Thanks in advance for your contributions.
