My Project

I'm moving to a new position within special education. I will be supporting students K - 12 in a online school environment. I will be coordinating with general education teachers to ensure students with IEPs and 504s have access to an appropriate education. I will support the students with their educational goals. I will communicate with families to maximize a student's success. All kids have a right to a rigorous and thoughtful education. Even though some students are best served with a virtual school experience, they deserve the best opportunities for success.

The items in my cart will allow me to create a virtual classroom for my students.

I will be working from our onsite school, but mostly from an off site location which will require me to share my space with others.

As the classroom is virtual, I will need a computer along with a separate monitor to allow me to work in small groups and be accessible to the entire class. Earphone will allow me to communicate with my students when I'm in an environment where others are present. This will also allow my students to keep confidentiality. The walking pad and stand up desk converter is for when I'm on site and my students will be in person for small group support. They will be working with me at my work station and they will benefit from a flexible work space. The walking pad allows them some exercise and movement since we don't have a proper playground or outside space. I will be displaying my screen to students when they are with me and online, as such the Amazon Echo provides an additional viewing screen for everyone to use. I can also broadcast lessons for students in person and online to hear and access.
