Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class is a special day class filled with wonderful students who are all autistic. My students love to art and color and are very interested in learning. Before this year started my students have never been introduced to all the wonderful people in history who were told "they could never do it"or "they would never make a difference. " By introducing these wonderful books to my class, my students will be able to share the stories of inventors, pioneers, civil rights leaders, and so many wonderful people. I am able to work to my students' strengths but using books that incorporate art, and we will be able to read together as a Read Aloud and discuss characters, settings, stories, actions, pictures, and art. Having the collection will allow us to read all year, and the books can be used for many years!
